Relaxation Massage is typically what people think of when they speak of a massage.  It takes place in a relaxing, private environment with soft lighting and relaxing music.  People experience deep relaxation, sometimes falling asleep during treatment.  They leave feeling relaxed, calm and may experience a "floating on air" type feeling.

Hot Stone is the ultimate spa indulgence.  It is a Relaxation Massage with Hot Stones used to infuse heat into the muscles for deepest relaxation.  The stones may be placed in the hands or on the feet or under pressure points on the body, as well as in motion to administer the massage.

Therapeutic Massage involves observation and evaluation which determines the treatment plan and outcome desired.  It is a collaboration between the patient and therapist and it continues for a specified duration. Results are measurable and may be acceptable or the best possible outcome or it may be determined that additional referrals -physical therapy, specialist physician, chiropractic- are needed.  Many methods are used as well as adjunctive tools such as trigger point tools, stretching or cupping.  Cupping is done with silicone cups or with a vacuum pressure machine that is precisely controlled.  Designed to loosen fascia, penetrate deeper layers and lift tissue, it enhances blood flow and circulation, and removes cellular metabolic by-products to help healing.  Sessions are set for 60 minutes but may run overtime in order to allow therapist time to complete treatment.  There is no extra cost to the patient for any of this.  Sessions may be done while dressed, especially if stretching is planned, and therapist may work on a patient while they are seated.   

Focused Work is for anyone who has limited time or is new to massage and unsure about what to expect.  This is similar to Therapeutic but less time and cost and is usually used for an introduction, as a "emergency" treatment or in the maintenance phase.
